Minecraft is already on loads of apps out there; calls to question why it’s still not in Apple TV. Well, that was then—Tim Cook announced that Minecraft will soon be available on the Apple TV.

The hugely popular sandbox will be available to many homes via Apple TV before the end of the year. That some news to cheers about for millions of people who have come to find the game as one they barely can’t do without. The game is available on multiple platforms including Xbox, tablet, smartphone, and computer.

Launched in 2009, Minecraft is one of the most popular games in the world. What makes the game more popular is the fact that it can be played with no rules or set of instructions, which makes it a comfortable fit for children and adults.

Adding Apple TV as one of the platforms where you can play the game makes it even more popular.

The game made the lists of YouTube’s popular games by region a couple of weeks ago. The game’s popularity according to the lists, transcends regions, and was ranked as one of two hugely popular video games in the world. Unlike Pokémon GO which didn’t quite make it to the top of popular games in Russia, Minecraft’s popularity goes beyond boarders.

Last August, Microsoft announced a collaboration with Oculus Rift to bring the game to virtual reality. Minecraft in VR? That was too much for a lot of enthusiasts to take; and today, the game continues to enjoy wide acceptability as it comes to Apple TV.

As Mike McGrath, a Minecraft developer rightly puts it back in August: “We’d like to welcome you to the game all over again, because it’s a fantastic new experience in VR, even if you’re a Minecraft veteran”. Indeed, the game provides its enthusiasts all over the world, especially on Apple TV, something new and enriching.

Unlike virtual reality which could take some time to get used to, playing Minecraft on Apple TV won’t be such a difficult task.

We will keep you updated when Minecraft finally and officially makes its way to Apple TV in December.

Meanwhile, Apple on Thursday announced the launch of Apple TV app. The new TV app, which will work with Apple TV, iPhone and iPad, will offer a unified experience for discovering and accessing TV shows and movies from multiple apps. Aside from watching movies and TV shows, you will also be able to discover new content. Alongside the launch, the Cupertino based tech giant also introduced a new Siri feature for Apple TV. The new feature will let you tune directly to live news and sporting events across multiple apps. It is a way to simplify the process of watching your favorite shows across Apple devices.
