One of the Microsoft officials announced that software giant will try to meet the 3-year timeframe between releases of Windows versions. Thus, Windows 8 should reach the consumer PCs in October.
Janelle Poole, Director of Windows Business Group, said that October is a date that should be considered by both journalists and public for the release of next operating system of the company.
“We respect the timeframes we use for Windows releases. In general we are not talking about factual data and will not violate this rule. Only that, if we respect the timeframe, users will have a consumer preview version ready in late February,” added the Microsoft official. Starting with Windows Vista, Microsoft has promised to launch a new version of Windows every three years. In October this year will be three years since the release of Windows 7.
Windows 8 is considered by many analysts and even by Steve Ballmer the highest bet made by the company since the market launch of the operating system. Windows 8 could really be a revolutionary operating system through its multiplatform concept, currently developed by the company, but there also exists the risk that many fans of Windows to consider the changes implemented too radical.
