AT&T has revealed that the latest Nokia flagship smartphone, the Lumia 920, will again be an exclusive offer of the US wireless carrier.
In a press release, AT&T revealed that it will exclusively offer the Lumia 920 to customers in the US but the company did not reveal any specific date when the new Nokia Windows Phone 8 smartphone will be available at its stores.
It did commit to a time frame though which the company said will be during “November”.
“Exclusive to our customers and featuring unique innovations in imaging technology, wireless charging and a bright, sensitive display – all on the nation’s largest 4G network – the Lumia 920 will be one of the hottest phones for the holidays,” said AT&T Mobility Devices and Developer Services Senior Vice President Jeff Bradley in a statement.
Nokia launched the Lumia 920 as well as the Lumia 820, which will also be coming to AT&T, last month.
The struggling Finnish giant is banking on the PureView camera technology of these devices as well as Windows Phone 8 to regain market share in the smartphone industry.
“We welcome AT&T’s decision to offer the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820, which, when added to what we’ve witnessed in other markets, underscores the momentum behind our Lumia devices and the broader Windows ecosystem,” Nokia America President Olivier Puech said in a statement.
“Our continued collaboration with AT&T is an important component for Nokia’s success in the U.S. market,” he added.
Meanwhile, the AT&T Lumia 920 will come in red, black, yellow and cyan and the Nokia Lumia 820 will come in just one color: black.
The AT&T Lumia 920 will have wireless charging built-in as well as PureView camera technology.
The rear camera of the new smartphone will have optical image stabilization and an 8-megapixel sensor which can capture full HD 1080p videos at 30 frames per second.
This camera caused quite the controversy after the device was launched as Nokia admitted then that they have faked optically-stabilized video shown in a promotional video for the Lumia 920.
The company apologized and promised to investigate itself.
Other features of the Lumia 920 is a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protected 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ ClearBlack display, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage (sadly there’s no microSD memory card slot), a dual-core 1.5GHz Krait core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and an Adreno 225 graphics processing unit.
