LinkedIn has finally made available an iPad version of its popular iOS mobile app nearly two years after it arrived on iPhone handsets.
The social networking site for professionals disclosed that 22 percent of its traffic came from mobile devices, which undoubtedly spurred the initiative to create an optimized version for Apple iPad tablets. Earlier, LinkedIn users had to deal with a larger-scaled version of the iPhone app, which is still not ideal for its bigger screen.
“It’s important to be where our members are and increasingly, busy professionals are on the go and using LinkedIn while out and about,” said Ariel Eckstein, Managing Director for LinkedIn Europe. “The iPad application aims to help professionals to be better prepared and empowered to make smarter business decisions wherever they may be working.”
The new LinkedIn iPad app makes full use of the tablet’s 9.7-inch Retina display to offer a visually appealing social networking experience.
LinkedIn also announced that its iPhone and Android apps now have 13 additional languages and an up-to-date calendar feature.
