LG has yet to announce officially its upcoming Optimus LTE P936 handset, but GSM Dome was already able to release its first preview of what would be the latest addition to the growing Optimus LTE line of 4G-enabled LG smartphones.
The South Korean phone maker is set to offer the LG Optimus LTE P936 with similar features to Korea-bound LG Optimus LTE SU640 when it comes to design and specifications.
Interested buyers should expect to receive a 720p AH-IPS LCD screen upfront, a Snapdragon chipset with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, and a 1080p HD video-capable 8-megapixel rear-facing camera.
Several theories have circulated in terms of the Optimus LTE P936 target market, one of which used the model number of the LG Nitro HD P930 (AT&T) as an indicator for its arrival in the US.
Verizon Wireless also has its own Optimus LTE smartphone to offer with the LG Spectrum, leaving Sprint as the most probable carrier to put the P936 on shelves.
Sprint is hot on the heels of its upcoming 4G LTE network launch in a few months so LG may have something in store to match the momentous event.
A different hypothesis considers the Optimus LTE P936 as the international version of the LG’s Optimus LTE family, whereas Europe still has to get attention from the 4G LTE capable lineup.
