The rising unfavorable judgments and frustrations vented across multiple media channels has urged LG to simmer down frantic users with news of its upcoming Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) update for its Optimus smartphones.
With contemptuous disregard of rumors that its 2011 range of Optimus handsets will not receive an ICS update, the Singapore branch of LG Mobile announced on its Facebook page that it is now brushing up the upgrade.
The South Korean phone maker’s Singapore Facebook page reads,
We hear you these recent weeks and would like to share with everyone that our Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) upgrade schedule is set and final details will be announced when they are ready. We are now working to fine-tune the upgrade for a better experience for all our customers. The following models will receive the ICS upgrade in due time:
• LG Optimus 2X
• LG Optimus Black
• LG Optimus 3D
• LG Prada
• LG Optimus LTE
While the upcoming ICS update still has no date of availability, several owners of LG’s aging Optimus handsets will finally receive a fresh user interface, speed enhancements, a new Android browser and better battery consumption.
Even though the confirmation came from its Singapore arm, this clearly means LG will have a global roll out for the update.
