A leaked front panel allegedly going into the next generation of iPod Touch media players points to the devices gaining a taller screen.
The leak comes by way of MacRumors which says that an unnamed ssource has “provided us with images of what are claimed to be new next-generation iOS device parts being carried by a supplier.”
According to the site’s source, the supplier which carriers the alleged next-generation iPod Touch front panel has indicated that the panel accommodates a 4.1-inch display.
This diagonal measurement is larger than the current screen size of the iPod Touch.
MacRumors has connected the story to the iPhone 5, however, saying that if the rumors about the iPhone 5 having a larger screen are true, Apple could make use of a front panel like this.
However, we here at Social Barrel only see a thin thread connecting the two. If anything, this new leak just points to the next-generation iPod Touch having a larger screen than its predecessor.
