Apple products work. In the case of iPhones, they work unless they are exposed to too much air. The company is not done with its problems on some iPhone 6s. Its consumers are still complaining about their iPhone 6s shutting down because of battery problems.

The company provided a free repair program. And on its Chinese site, Apple explained why some iPhone 6s devices are having battery issues.

“We found that a small number of iPhone 6s devices made in September and October 2015 contained a battery component that was exposed to controlled ambient air longer than it should have been before being assembled into battery packs. As a result, these batteries degrade faster than a normal battery and cause unexpected shutdowns to occur. It’s important to note, this is not a safety issue. To help our customers who are experiencing this issue, we are replacing batteries in affected devices, free of charge. iPhone 6s owners can easily find out if their device is eligible by typing in their device’s serial number on the iPhone 6s Program for Unexpected Shutdown Issues web page. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused customers.” – Apple

Apple also reminded its consumers that if their iPhone is breaking, it is probably their fault. The reason for this is that iPhone is designed to shut down automatically if there are freezing temperature and other certain conditions. It is designed that way to protect the electronics of the device from low voltage.

The company also stated that the iPhone battery problem is only limited to some iPhone 6s devices. As previously mentioned, you can find out if you are eligible for a free repair by going to Apple’s web page.

Now, if you are qualified for a free repair, your best bet is to go to the Apple Store. According to some users, the repair can take an hour, and it is an in-store procedure. However, the battery replacement will be available for a few weeks, even if you have an Apple Care.

Although Apple said that the problem only affects some iPhone 6s models manufactured in September and October 2015, the China Consumers Association said that:

“Apple released “iPhone 6s after an unexpected shutdown behavior plan”, many consumers continue to reflect the situation in the associations, after the summary found that mobile phones abnormal shutdown problem also exists in the iPhone. 6 , the iPhone. 6 Plus , the iPhone 6S Plus and production date , 2015 Nian . 9 months to 10 except during the month of iPhone 6s models. These models also 15 Japan-China Consumers Association letter of inquiry involved in abnormal shutdown models. At the same time, consumers also ” the iPhone 6S performs unexpected shutdown behavior plan” put forward opinions and suggestions.” – China Consumer Association

But Apple is adamant that it is a limited hardware problem. However, it is also possible that the latest iOS has a bug that causes the battery to drain abruptly.

Right now, the company is engaged in a dangerous stand-off. It is facing angry customers and a government watchdog in China. Apple is not conceding yet that the problem is wider than a single iPhone model.
