Demand for the iPhone 5 has reached a feverish high with some people even bidding nearly $10,000 for an iPhone.
Other sites like CNET and Mashable are reporting that the new Apple device is selling on eBay for over $1,600.
A quick search through the site reveals this seller which says its item is in Montreal, Canada: a 64GB black iPhone 5 that has a bidder saying they’ll pay $9,701 for the device.
Of course, there’s still the possibility that those who bid for the iPhone in this listing are just joy bidders but a look into current listings for iPhone 5 units show prices reaching $2,000, $2,500 and up to $2,900.
Apple revealed just recently that it has sold out its initial batch of iPhone 5 units. According to the company, the over 2 million people preordered the iPhone 5 during the first 24 hours it went on preorder.
AT&T has also said that the new Apple smartphone is the fastest-selling iPhone they have ever handled.
The iPhone 5 was unveiled by Apple just last week.
