Apple may get a boost in iPads sold during the holiday season in the form of 8 million iPad Mini units sold, an investment bank forecasts.
If Apple will indeed release a smaller iPad, it could mean that the company may sell up to 30 million iPads during the holidays.
The forecast comes from RBC Capital Markets analyst Amit Daryanani in a note sent to investors on Monday.
The analyst estimates that Apple will sell 21.6 million iPads during the holiday seasons.
If Apple launches the iPad Mini, Apple will sell a total of 29.6 million iPads during the fourth quarter.
The boost will likely net Apple $2 billion more in profit, the analyst told investors.
According to the latest rumor, Apple has ordered 10 million iPad Mini units from its suppliers in Asia, The Wall Street Journal reported just this Monday.
