The Instagram app is one of the most updated—new features and functionalities are added every other month. A new button that will let you share your stories was recently spotted by Ahmed Ghanem, which will let you share stories to other apps.

Stories has enjoyed tremendous attention since it was launched a couple of years ago by the Facebook-owned app. The fact that it is one of the most updated functionalities in the app is a clear statement to how highly Instagram rates it.

A “share to” button will let you share your stories to more apps, which encourages wider and bigger reach. Stories on Instagram is already very popular, but the fact that you can now share it with more people makes it even more interesting. For marketers, it is one more way to reach out to millions of people via other apps—and it is a plus.

Instagram on Tuesday formally launched the Chat Stickers in Stories. The announcement, which was made on Twitter, is coming barely one month after it was first reported by Jane Manchun Wong.

Instagram via its Twitter page said the sticker offers an “easy way to start conversations with a group of friends right from your story.” It is a sure way to keep the conversation going, and to encourage more people to keep using the app. As with other features released in the last few years, the chat sticker is one that could further tighten the app’s stronghold in the market—ahead of Snapchat in particular.

The new sticker option is tagged “Chat” and allows anyone looking at a story request to join an Instagram group Direct Message conversation tied to the post. Though, everyone can send a request to join a chat group, the onus is on the original poster to either approve or reject the request. What this means is that you are in charge of saying yes or no to any request made by your follower or contact.

Instagram’s Direct Message has a built-in one-to-one and one-to-many private messaging for its users. This offers a unique selling point for the ephemeral photo sharing app, and will continue to give it the edge when it comes to competition from its biggest rivals—including Snapchat.

Only a few months ago, Instagram launched the Quiz Sticker. Quiz stickers will be very useful for companies and radio/TV presenters who like to engage their followers online. Instagram said you could use Quiz Stickers to do a number of things including asking your friends and followers multiple-choice questions. This, according to the Facebook subsidiary, will allow your followers or fans to know you even more.
