Instagram has added a new update that makes it easier for everyone to easily access their most-used emojis. The shortcut started rolling out the new feature on Thursday, and will be available to all iOS and Android users.

The new shortcut according to The Verge, has been in public testing since May and places your most-used emojis right in front of you—where you can easily reach them. Those emojis you often make use of will now be available above your keyboard as soon as you begin to comment on a post.

This small but significant update will make it easier and much fun for users who love commenting with emoji to do so without much stress.

In other news, Instagram is reportedly working on a new ecommerce app. The Verge reports that the standalone app is being designed to cater to the needs of shoppers. When launched, “IG Shopping” will let users “browse collection of goods from merchants that they follow.” Citing people familiar with the story, The Verge writes that users will be able to shop directly from the app.

IG Shopping may yet not see the light of the day as Instagram could decide to pull the plug and have it canceled. Same sources also confirmed that Instagram is now in a better position to move into ecommerce.

Instagram is not the first social media site to venture into ecommerce, however, adding a standalone app adds something new to what others are already doing. Pinterest, and Snapchat are already providing the framework for people to shop and transact different types of business on their platforms.

Still talking about new update, the photo-sharing app has expanded access to its blue verification badge. This change was announced along with a couple of others aimed at making the app safe for every users.

The new verification process is amazingly easy, simply go to settings, look for the new titled ‘Request Verification’ [it has just been added]. Once you are there, enter your handle, name, and a photo of your ID—and that is all you will be required to do at least in the meantime.

Submission does not guarantee that your request will be granted and your account verified, however, you will be notified when a decision has been reached whether positive or not.

Though, Instagram said the new verification procedure is for all users with large audiences, nonetheless, you can still have access to it regardless of the size of your followers.

To be verified, an account must comply with Instagram’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. We will review verification requests to confirm the authenticity, uniqueness, completeness and notability of each account.”

It will be a great way to verify the authenticity of accounts, and will help users make informed decision on who to follow.
