A Twitter user @Social_pip has spotted a new feature on Instagram that will let people follow you by hashtags. Although it’s still being tested, the feature seems like one that will please a lot of people because it will allow you to follow interesting topics, and to a larger extent, get to follow new accounts.

According to TNW, Instagram is currently only limiting the feature to ‘top posts and recent’ stories. This makes it a less tasking especially the popularity of some hashtags. That said, it’s still a test, and one that is currently only limited to a small number of people using Instagram. However, it’s one feature I would love to see added to the Facebook-owned ephemeral app.

So, like we always do when a feature is still being tested, we just wait until Instagram confirms or releases it to a global audience.

From one feature being tested to another, the ephemeral photo sharing app is reportedly testing a Stop-Motion camera tool. According to The Verge, Stop Motion camera tool will let you take a long series of photos that can be stitched up by Instagram into a GIF that can then be posted in your story.

With the Stop-Motion tool you can take series of photos, but can’t edit them individually. Once you are though with takin your pictures, you can tap “done” to easily access the story-editing tools like stickers and text. You can then post the stop-motion GIF to your story from them.

The Stop-Motion tool is still being tested, and may or may not see the light of the day; but of course, this could depend on a couple of factors. If at the end of the test, Instagram finds it good enough to do a public rollout, then we might see the tool pretty soon or later.

If eventually released, the Stop-Motion camera tool will be an addition to the growing list of camera tools like Boomerang GIFs, layout collages, hyperlapse time-lapse, and the recently launched Superzoom.

The competition with Snapchat will only bring out the best in the app, and will probably benefit users who will now have loads of good features to use when snapping and uploading images to their story.

Only a couple of weeks back, Instagram announced a new feature that enhances live video broadcast. The new feature, according to Instagram, will allow you to add guests when going live on Instagram. The addition followed a recent test Instagram carried out a few months ago.

Going forward, you can now invite another person to join your live broadcast from your device. You will be able to add people who are watching any live video you are streaming at the moment by simply clicking the “add” button in the corner of your screen. Once a friend is added, he or she will join you in a separate window below your screen. You can only add one guest at a time, but can replace one guest with another.
