HTC has just announced dismal result for the third quarter of the year headlined by just NT $3.9 billion (about $133 million) in net profit.
While it may seem to still be quite a lot of money for ordinary people, that net profit figure is down 79 percent from HTC’s showing during the third quarter of last year.
HTC made NT $18.68 billion (about $640 million) on NT $135.82 billion (around $4.64 billion) in revenue during the July to September quarter last year.
The $133 million in profit for Q3 2012 comes on NT $70.2 billion (approximately $2.4 billion) in revenue.
Looking over the third quarter performance report from HTC, one notices that in just a year, HTC “cash and cash equivalents” has shrunk from nearly $3.6 billion to $1.7 billion.
The picture also doesn’t look to improve for the company for the fourth quarter as it warns another lackluster quarter ahead with guidance of NT $60 billion (approximately $2.05 billion) in revenue for Q4 2012.
