How to Write Interesting Article for Your Readers

How to Write Interesting Article for Your Readers

In this article, you’ll find some effective tips in making your blog contents more interesting.

Give Readers a Hint But Not Giving Away the Plot

In literature, it’s known as foreshadowing. You’re giving your audience a thrill and excitement of what’s to come.

This will prevent boredom as you’re trying to point your audience to the right direction. They’ll wonder of what’s going to happen to your article. Will it really help them as you’ve promised?

For them to find out, they’ll keep scrolling until they’ve reached the end of your post.

Tell Readers a Story

We all love reading a story. That’s because any type of stories can activate certain parts of our brains.

When you read a story, your brain also releases the happy chemical known as dopamine. This usually happens when reading emotional high points of the story.

To make your blog post more interesting, try including simple stories to up the interest of your readers.

Use Headings and Subheadings

They’re useful in signaling your audience that you’re going to switch directions.

Readers usually fall off when the writer abruptly transition from one topic to another without getting a warning from the writer.

In addition to headings and subheadings, you may use numbered lists to create a visual transition.

Transitions are essential to keep your readers and audience engaged while reading your article. This will make sure that they’ll read your article from top to bottom.

Make It Personal

How? Expert blog writers recommend writing in first person. It’s because it sounds natural and it’s how we talk.

Reading in third-person voice can be really weird. Not to mention, it’s dry and awkward.

But writing in first-person voice will depend on the publication you’re writing for. Online newspapers require writers to write in third-person.

When you’re writing for a certain website, this tip may not apply especially if it specifically states that you write in third-person.

Be Concise

Admit it. Some of us write longer articles because we want our blog to be included in the in-depth results of Google for a certain topic or to rank higher on a certain keyword.

What you should care for is to write an article that’s helpful. If it’s beneficial for your readers, they don’t mind reading a 2,500-word article or a 5,000-word blog as long as the topic is interesting and it answers their questions.

Remember that most readers have a short attention span. Making your article longer than needed will cause them to lose patience.

But just because you need to be concise doesn’t mean you have to cut down your article to make it shorter than it should be.

Reducing the length will make your post an outline, rather than a real article.

Too Long, Didn’t Read

There are ways to help you write interesting content. You just need to be natural and think about your readers when writing a post and write for them instead of writing for the search engines.
