Source – https://www.forbes.com/sites/jeannemeister/2013/01/03/the-future-of-work-the-rise-of-social-hr/#2516a45172ea

If you are a business owner, you might have faced downfall in your social media success. The Internet is filled with cases that social media hasn’t worked. These are the reasons, why what worked in the past is no longer working. Today’s social media strategies are outdated but you can convert those into powerful tools.

Change Paid Ads into Organic Promotion

You might know brands that are spending billions of dollars on social media ads. The average advertising conversion rate is less than 10 percent. Companies still are using the ads because they do not have alternatives. In my opinion, whatever works against you can be transmitted to be used for you. There is nothing wrong with promoting your brand at social media channels, but you have low conversion rates, there is no point of spending billions.

You should convert paid ads into an organic promotion if you spend those advertising dollars on efforts to create great stories, which will have a lasting influence on people on social media. Creating something that will promote your brands and give value to consumers. This will make long-lasting relationships with consumers and enhance brand loyalty.

Communicate Through Ambassadors

We see lots of updates on social media channels every single day, but how much social media are too much? According to Forbes, the average American spends 135 minutes on social media a day. However, companies and brands must not post too often on social media. Instead, appoint individuals or brand ambassadors to do valuable activities with consumers by developing a closer relationship.

They should focus on user intent and give them answers to their questions and problems. Brands and companies have seen there is no big return by posting too much on social media. People want to deal with people not with bots. So companies and brands can appoint a team of brand ambassadors to keep the human touch alive on social media by creating creative social media posts to get better results and satisfying customers or users.

Convert Pages into Groups

Companies are focusing more on Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn pages. There is nothing wrong with that, but if you want to get real value from those pages you need to start groups with similar names or interests. Posting 10 times on social media pages would not engage your targeted audience as much as commenting one solid point in a social group. This is one of those reasons social media pages are becoming an outdated strategy to engage people on social channels. But by creating groups you can surely make a difference and even drive group traffic back to social pages.
