Details of the new MacBook Pro and Mac Pro line have leaked before they are even announced at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) today.
According to 9to5Mac, there will be four new Mac Lines announced at the WWDC 2012. Furthermore, they reported about specific features of two o the new updates.
The publication reports that a new Mac Pro will be unveiled by Apple at WWDC. This new line of desktop computer will have three configurations, the site says. Citing “reliable sources,” the site says that these are the new models of the Mac Pro:
- Normal configuration: 3.2GHz quad-core processor, 6GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive, and the ATI Radeon 5770 graphics chip.
- Normal configuration: 2.4GHz 12-core processor, 12GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive, and the ATI Radeon 5770 graphics chip.
- Server configuration: 3.2GHz quad-core processor, 8GB of RAM, Two 1TB hard drives
However, these standard configurations can be tweaked by potential Apple customers.
Meanwhile, 9to5Mac is also reporting that Apple will likely unveil a new MacBook Pro line equipped with Retina Display and which have thinner profiles.
Retina Displays will be featured in the 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops, the site says. Here are the specs of the new MacBook Pro line, according the publication.
- 13.3 inch: 2.5GHz dual core processor, 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive
- 13.3 inch: 2.9GHz dual core processor, 8GB of RAM, 750GB hard drive
- 15.4 inch: 2.3GHz quad core processor, 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive
- 15.4 inch: 2.6GHz quad core processor, 8GB of RAM, 750GB hard drive (BTO upgrades to 2.7GHz quad core and 1TB HD will be available)
These specifications are for MacBook Pro laptops which will not have Retina Display. However, the site insists that there will be MacBook Pro models which will come with Retina Display.
Meanwhile, Apple will also debut a new AirPort Express and USB SuperDrive at the WWDC. According to the site’s sources, the new USB SuperDrive will be marketed for the next-generation MacBook Pro which will have no optical disc drive.
Aside from the MacBook Pro and Mac Pro announcements at the WWDC, Apple is also expected to debut a new Apple TV or iTV at the event. Apple’s iOS 6 mobile operating system is also expected to be unveiled at the event.
Furthermore, Apple is expected to launch new and better tools for apps developers working in its ecosystem.
