It’s no news that you can plan your next flight, book hotels, and even arrange a taxi to come pick you up just by using one of those travel apps. Planning for your next trip is not as easy as it is because it takes a lot of efforts—everything has to fall into place. The fact that one has to engage different apps to get all things sorted out can be energy sapping to put it mildly. Google has everything worked out for you—you can now book hotels, flights, and plan all your itineraries, all in search results.
Going forward, Google has evolved a new plan that will enable you explore options and make decisions all within your mobile phone. A new search experience has now been rolled out by the search engine giant that includes better price filtering, ability to book flights right from Google, and easier to find amenity information.
“We’re also rolling out new features in some countries on mobile search to make it easier than ever to check out your travel options when you’re on the go.” Eric Zimmerman Director, Travel Product Management at Google said in a blog post. “In the next few days, you’ll see that if you search for a flight in Google Flights, you can click right in to “Hotels” at the top of the page. This lets you easily click over to check hotel availability and prices in your destination city for the dates you’ve already selected.”
Let’s just say you search for a hotel, you can also click to the “Flights” tab to check prices and fare options. This makes it even easier to book your flights when you are done.
It’s not any different if you want to learn about a specific place, or when searching for things to do there. You can now in addition to checking out a trip to a particular city or location, click to browse available hotels or flights while checking out the destination.
Once you click on “More Destinations” in the top left, you will be taken into a new experience that lets you explore several other destinations, weekend getaways and trips that you might just be interested in.
A new feature has also been added to your Gmail account that allows you to see all your upcoming and past travel reservations within your email. Called “Your Trips,” you will be able to see past and upcoming reservations from Gmail—and of course, all results are private. You will be able to email your trip reservations to friends or family right from Your Trips. The same feature also allows you to edit and access your reservations directly offline with the Google Trips app whenever you are traveling.
“This feature doesn’t just help you plan your travels, it also connects you to travel companies who help you square away those plans.”
