Google’s travel app, Trips is getting even better with some exciting features. Among other newly added features, the app can now automatically pull in train and bus tickets sent to your Gmail address. Before this update, Trips could collate all your flight, hotel, and car reservations.
These will appear also in the reservations section of the app, in between your various hotel stays, allowing you to better see how you’re moving between one place to the next – even if not by air.
Also, a new update allows you to enter in the reservations by hand, especially in cases where there is no email confirmation. To do this, you will need to press the “+” sign in Trips to sign in before adding a restaurant, hotel, car rental, and flight manually. The fact that those details are being manually typed in doesn’t stop Google from helping you to auto-complete the information required.
Google has also added a space for free-form notes that enables you to add other types of reservations that you want to track, but don’t fit into one of the high-level travel categories, TechCrunch reports. This should be the perfect place in case you want to add details of your trip.
Want to share your reservations with other parties? Of course, you can as Trips now offer you with similar feature you can find in other major apps designed for tourists and travelers. Simply tap an arrow button on the reservations screen to forward the details of your trip via email to anyone. Your plans can be seen by anyone using the apps.
Google Trips app is a late entrant in the travel and tour market, but these newly added features will make it more competitive and make it more appealing to many people. The fact that Google already boast of some other travel and search apps that can boost your traveling plans, gives Trip a soft landing.
Besides being a free app, and available to every iOS and Android users for free, the app uses content from your Google account; making it easier to plan your trips. Based on the travel information, like car reservations, hotel receipts, and flight confirmation, among others, in your Gmail inbox, Trips can create trips automatically.
The app also gives you real-time updates on flight delays and gate changes so you will never miss a thing. What’s more is that you can download all those details so you can access it while you are traveling and no Internet. However, you will need to be online to get those real-time updates.
Compared to other travel apps, Google Trips offers other incredible features for every trip. When you open it, you will see a list of your upcoming, past and current trips. Tap on a journey and you’ll find additional options and information that’s beyond your standard reservations.
