Google Simplifies Trip Planning with Google Travel Site

Google Simplifies Trip Planning with Google Travel Site

Traveling today is a lot easier than it was a decade ago. But Google wants to make it simpler than ever. The company announced recently that its travel-related apps or services will be in one place.

In that case, Google Maps, Hotels, Search, flights and Trips will be in one place so you can easily determine where you are going, staying and how to get there.

Google wants to assist you in finding the travel-related information that you need in a faster way. It does not matter what device you are using.

In 2018, Google made it easier to navigate from Google Flights to Trips to Hotels on mobile devices. This year, it is rolling out such feature on desktop.

When you go to google.com/travel, you can find travel information from various sources without having to go from one Url to another.

Organized Trips

When planning your trip, Google will organize it into Trips. The information can also be accessed through Google Maps and Google Search. You can edit the timeline of your trip directly. You can also add new reservations manually.

Google wants to make sure that you have packed appropriate clothes for your travel. That’s why it includes weather information in the google.com/travel. Rain or shine, you are ready for that trip.

Because those features are accessible on the web and on mobile, you can easily pick up your trip and plan it in on any device. Unfortunately, you cannot make reservations using the system or any system of Google.

Rather, the service will redirect you to the system of an airline or a hotel to complete your booking.

The search engines for actual flight and hotel are the same. That is, you can search for a hotel and any flights you want to know and book. Google will also make it accessible for you to find your trips in Google Maps.

Because it can take days or weeks to plan a trip, Google keeps track of your trip searches. In that case, your saved places, flights and previous searches are added to your trips automatically. However, you need to be signed into your account to view those pieces of information.

Thus, if you wish to continue your trip planning, your search results will be available at google.com/travel. You can also opt out of seeing private results. To do so, you need to go to results and web activity settings.

Google also provides travel articles to help with your trip planning. The articles will give you information like popular restaurants near your hotel or suggested day plans. You will also find details of events that may happen during your travel dates.

Unfortunately, the Trip Bundles from Inbox are not yet available on Gmail. Google did promise to make them accessible before terminating Inbox. Then again, the Google Travel site is a great alternative.

Google’s main goal here is to simplify trip planning and make it helpful. In that way, you can quickly find the most useful details of your trip.

“Our goal is to simplify trip planning by helping you quickly find the most useful information and pick up where you left off on any device. We’ll continue to make planning and taking trips easier with Google Maps, Google Search and google.com/travel—so you can get out and enjoy the world.” – Google
