A Gboard update is always something to look forward to especially if you are a fan of the popular keypad app. It is one app that makes it very easy to express yourself during chats on your phone. Over the years, the app has welcomed series of features that continue to attract millions of users. Gboard is getting even better as Google is now adding a new option to create custom stickers from your likeness.

9to5google reports that Google is adding “Mini” stickers to Gboard that will allow you to take a selfie. The stickers will allow you to take a selfie and have a cartoon likeness created from it. For all those familiar with Android Messages, sticker packs are especially nothing new, but provide an exciting way to try something new and exciting.

The Allo chat app was first to welcome “Mini” as selfie stickers last year, and the fun seems to be going round now with Gboard added to the list. While Allo as a chat app seems to be edging closer to the exit door, some of its features are being added to other Google app.

With Mini, you can create 100 new sticker style just by using your personalized avatar on top of the existing ones. With this, you now have loads of sticker collections to choose from every time you want to express yourself in a classy way.

“…the feature uses a combination of machine learning, neural networks and artist illustrations to conjure up the best representation of you, taking into account various characteristics like your skin tone, hair color and style, eye color, face shape and facial hair,” Google said per Engadget.

A few weeks ago, Google added the ability to make a GIF” feature to Gboard as well some minor tweaks to the built-in Search feature. The Make a GIF feature is a built-in animation creator that is fast and easy to access.

The keyboard app also welcomed a new Sticker Gallery that allows you to express yourself even more during conversation. Simply go to the stickers tab, tap the ‘plus’ icon, and “Get stickers” will reveal a new collection of over 500 animations and stills. The best part is, you can save the packs in your favorites tab to access them anytime you want.

Prior to that update, Google added support for downloadable stickers and Bitmoji to Gboard. This can then be used in any app that supports image pasting.

Some sticker packs that include the NBAmoji, Google Allo selfie stickers, Hello Kitty Garfield, and many others have been added. Of course, many of these stickers are available at no cost, but you may have to pay $2 if you want to add sticker packs such as Star Wars, Mickey Mouse, and Toy Story.

Version 7.0.2 which was released last February added a new interface that allows you to search all categories. It came with a carousal for swiping through the results of queries you enter.
