If you don’t like standing in line outside movie theaters for tickets, you can buy them online, or better, through mobile apps. Two apps worth noting are MovieTickets.com and Fandango.

Most theaters sell tickets through these apps. There are additional features too, such as movie trailers. For both apps, there is an additional charge of 1.25 dollars ticket fee for the benefit of not having to wait in line.

Fandango prompts you to use your current location to look for ideal movie theaters, or you can type in the zip code of a place.

You can search for theaters or movies, and then the app will display show times. You can then buy tickets and pay via PayPal, credit card, or debit card. As previously mentioned, you can buy tickets for movies showing at a later date.

There’s even a social side to Fandango, as you can let your friends know what you think about movies you just saw.

Essentially the same process works for MovieTickets.com, but the menus look different. It’s not as glossy as Fandango, but it works. In addition, there are apps elsewhere you can use for knowing what’s showing in movie theaters across the country. These apps connect to Fandango for ticket selling.

Buying movie tickets through your iPhone or Android device is just a little bit more expensive, but it’s the easier and more convenient way.
