Facebook’s major goal is to get the world connected through a unified platform—and despite having more than 2 billion users already, it still wants to do more. The social media network according to TechCrunch, is testing a new feature that will connect you with people that share similar interest with. Of course, while helping you to connect with potential new ones, the social media giant still wants you to stay connected with the old ones too.

To achieve all of that, Facebook is rolling out a feature that helps you to take a closer look at your friend’s pals. The new feature will show you old and potentially new friends—perhaps, this is just being added to get to know those friends that you have not been in contact with in a while.

Unlike the previous way of helping you to know about potential new friends, which involves showing you your mutual friends, the new feature will help you dig deeper. It will also show you events that you attended with your friend, pages you both like, and places you have both worked or lived. You can access this new feature by tapping on a button urging you to “get to know [name’s] friends.” This will cast you into a carousel of the connections.

A new Tinder-like feature is on the card too…

Facebook wants to copy everything good about every successful social platform out there. The social media website is reportedly testing a new feature on its Messenger chat platform that looks much like Tinder. According to Motherboard, the new feature being tested is aimed at helping people connect with those that are already their friends.

Recall that Snapchat has a feature that is a bit similar to this one—and would help you interact friends you haven’t had a chat with in a while. Why Facebook is adding this feature to Messenger at this time seems odd to me considering the fact that you still have to switch to its main app to view the person’s profile.

It doesn’t look like a feature that has hit the Play Store on a larger scale; a fact that shows it’s still in a beta state. What this means is that not everyone has seen it just yet. You might probably have to wait a couple of more days to get to see it—and that’s if it gets the nod.

Facebook recently rolled out more ways to enjoy memories with your friends. “On This Day,” a popular sharing prompt introduced by the social media giant two years ago, has become one of the most widely used features on the network.

People come to Facebook to share different kinds of memories using the platform. Events and occasions that bring fond memories to people are shared using the feature, which Facebook thinks encourages people to use the feature more often. To this end, the company is added two new ways to enjoy memories and celebrate special moments.
