The Facebook iOS app now offers its users the ability to record and share video as well as send voice messages.
This means that Facebook app users who installed the software on their iOS device can now send audio messages through the app rather than go to the standalone Facebook Messenger app for iOS.
The send voice message function was first rolled out to the Messenger app.
The move makes sense for Facebook as Messenger usually is the first of their apps to receive a new feature being tested out.
If the feature gains traction, the company has had a history of integrating it to their main Facebook app.
Meanwhile, sending and sharing video is straightforward with the Facebook iOS app.
The update includes a step for permission for the app to access your camera for video recording.
Video sharing could be personal (you send a video to a person) or through a group (you share the video with multiple persons).
