Hughes and his boyfriend Sean Eldridge announced their engagement from their Soho loft during a Freedom to Marry reception.  The couple is waiting for gay marriage to be legalized in New York before they set a definite wedding date. In attendance at the reception were Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Christine Quinn, and Cory Booker.

Hugh’s is sometimes referred to as “the kid who made Obama president” because he was in charge of organizing the development of My.BarackObama.com , when Mr. Obama was running for president in 2008. My.BarackObama.com is a social networking website paid for by the Democratic National that helped Mr. Obama win the presidency.
