Ex-Box? Microsoft Leaves Original Xbox One Behind

Source: https://www.engadget.com/2017/08/25/microsoft-discontinues-original-xbox-one/

Microsoft stops selling its original Xbox One in the US. The company ceased manufacturing it a few months ago. However, today is the day that it became unavailable officially.

Until now, you could still see the original Xbox One and order from the online store of Microsoft. Today, you’ll see the “out of stock” notice in the UK store while the US store deleted the Xbox One page entirely.

On its online store, Microsoft only sells Xbox One S and Xbox One X.

Although it’s leaving behind the original Xbox One, we can be sure that a new phase of this device is coming soon. The company moves on from the original platform, and it’s going to deliver a 4k gameplay. With the upcoming Xbox One X, you can expect multiple gaming features.

The partner retailers of Microsoft will soon drop the console when they run out of stock as well.

What are your options?

If you wanted an Xbox, you would have two options. The first one is to wait for the Xbox One X to be available.

But if you couldn’t wait, you could purchase the Xbox One S. It has almost the same features as the original Xbox One. But the One S’s console is slimmer. It also comes with 4K Blu-ray capable and updated hardware. The One S offers great features that you can’t find on the original.

Furthermore, the aesthetic part of One S is more impressive than the Xbox One. You can position the One S upright, and it sports a matte-white block on a black base. Although it’s smaller than the original, it houses the power brick, which is an external component of Xbox One.

The One S addressed several design flaws like the problematic power button and the inconveniently located sync button. If you look at its backside, you can see that it has two HMI ports, two USB ports, Ethernet and S/PDIF.

As for compatibility, Xbox One S supports all games on Xbox One. You can also upscale old games to 4K.

The One S has nice bundle deals, including the Halo Wars 2bundle, Forza Horizon 3 bundle and Battlefield 1 SE bundle, among others.

The Xbox One X, on the other hand, is off to a great start. After the company started accepting pre-orders around the world, Microsoft saw that the X Project Scorpio Edition’s pre-order numbers are higher than the Xbox console.

If you have the original Xbox One, you might be thinking of upgrading to One S, which offers excellent Ultra HD Blu-Ray player for the right price. The One S is indeed a superior machine than the original Xbox One.

If you could wait until the One X comes out, then you could enjoy better power, graphics and processing capabilities so you could have better-looking games.

But the One S is also a great option if you want a good ultra HD Blu-ray player and you can’t wait for the One X.
