The report by the NGO cites that seven facilities owned by five Apple suppliers as pollution spreading facilities.
According to the report by the NGO, Foxconn, one of the largest suppliers and assembly line of Apple is one of the companies which have been found to be polluting the environment.
However, the AP adds that Apple has responded to the criticism saying that it is “driving the highest standards of social responsibility” with regards to its supply chain.
“We require that our suppliers provide safe working conditions, treat workers with dignity and respect, and use environmentally responsible manufacturing processes wherever Apple products are made,” the AP quotes Apple.
