Dream:ON is an iPhone app designed by Professor Richard Wiseman, a psychologist from the UK.
The app aids a mass experiment conducted by the professor. Results of this study will provide significant progress in tracking and recording our dreams, and changing the way we dream.
Before sleeping, users turn on the iPhone app and leave the phone in bed while they sleep. The iPhone gyroscope will detect if there is no movement in the bed, which means the person sleeping is already in the REM stage where dreams usually occur.
During REM, the phone will play a song from two audio options, either Peaceful Garden or Into the City. You can pay 59p for three more songs, Relaxing Rainforest, Space Shuttle and Ocean View.
The app will also record your location, upon your permission, to study whether people from different locations have different dreams.
When you wake up in the morning, the phone asks you to report your dream and update the dream bank located in the iPhone app. The app connects you to your Facebook or Twitter account, and promote to you to tag your friends you saw in your dream.
