Blizzard Entertainment has released a Diablo 3 Starter Edition to promote the recent launch of its massively popular swords and spells game.
After its release, Diablo 3 instantly became the world’s fastest-selling PC game of all time, and the trial version will give gamers a glimpse of its gameplay.
The free Diablo 3 Starter Edition, however, only offers limited access to the game. Interested players who want to give it a test run can do so with three options: log in with an existing Battle.net account, borrow a friend’s game disc and install it using a Guest Pass, or make a new Battle.net account.
Choose one of those methods and you will have immediate access to a trial version of the game, regardless of its missing features and a level 13 ceiling.
According to Blizzard Entertainment, players can battle their way up to Act I’s Skeleton King and continue until level 13. Diablo 3 Starter Edition does not have auction facilities, and players can only run through multiplayer sessions with other players who use the trial version.
Blizzard conveniently added an option to lift Starter Edition restrictions within 72 hours of full game payment.
