AT&T has been named the best place to work for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees, the company and the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) have announced.
This marks the ninth consecutive year AT&T has been bestowed the recognition which the company said is a product of their drive to harness diversity and push for inclusion of these diverse backgrounds in their workforce.

Sharp May Fully Tap Display Factory This Yearend

Sharp may boost the output of one of its new display panel factory to near-full capacity as early as the end of this year, a new report says.
The information comes to us from the Yomiuri newspaper through a report from Reuters.
According to the newspaper, Sharp may increase output of its Kameyama Number 2 plant to near 100 percent in the coming months.

IBM has revealed that it believes claims against it by chemicals firm Avantor Performance Materials are exaggerated.
In a statement made by the Sillicon Valley veteran to Reuters, it said that claims made by Avantor are “exaggerated and misguided”.

NVIDIA Q3: Record $1.2Bn Revenue, Mobile Still Ramping Up

NVIDIA has reported record revenue of $1.2 billion for the third quarter of fiscal year 2013 boosted by strong performance of its mobile chips which now accounts for almost a third of all the business.
Mobile chips now account for 30 percent of the company’s income, a steep increase from its share three years ago which was at about 7 percent.
Revenue is up 15.3 percent quarter-over-quarter and up 12.9 percent year-over-year.

Foxconn, the Chinese device manufacturer which is the sole assembler of the iPhone, may soon produce LCD TVs in the US.

Sony Network Entertainment International Boss Quits

Sony has revealed that Tim Schaaff, the president of Sony Network Entertainment International, has resigned.
According to the Japanese tech giant, Schaaff will effectively be leaving Sony by the end of this year on December 31, 2012.
Andrew House, Sony’s president and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, will be taking Schaaff’s responsibility during the transition period.

Sprint To Acquire Spectrum, Customers From U.S. Cellular For $480Mn

Sprint and U.S. Cellular have both announced that nationwide carrier will be buying wireless spectrum and customers from the regional carrier for $480 million.
The deal, which includes about 10 percent of all U.S. Cellular customers and 4G spectrum, is expected to be completed next year.
Nonetheless, even if the companies have both concurred on a “definitive agreement”, the deal is still subject to regulatory approval.
