The iPhone 5 release date may be some time during the last two weeks of September, according to a tip to tech site Gizmodo.

marco.ziero / Flickr (CC BY-SA)In a report, the tipster who identified himself as “an att (AT&T) employee” says that by the end of September, “vacation requests…will be denied due to an ‘event blackout’.”

The tipster was apparently informed of this possible iPhone 5 release by the “boss” of the AT&T location he works at.

“Historically the only time they’ve done this was for an iphone release. So we’re looking at the last two weeks of September,” the tipster said.

As is usual before iPhone release dates, various reports have come out speculating when the iPhone 5 release will be made.

We have also reported here at Social Barrel, through a report from frequent Apple whistleblower site DigiTimes, that the iPhone 5 release may come by September.

Apple historically releases a new iPhone every summer, usually by June, since its first iPhone model was released in 2007.

Other reports have also previously said that the iPhone 5 release may come in the first two weeks of September.
