By fall, Apple iPads and iPhones will already have the new map feature that includes 3D versions of cities and dictating directions to drivers.
During Apple’s developer conference that was held last week, Apple showcased the latest Maps app, a better version of Siri, and new software and Mac laptops. In addition, despite initial rumors before the conference, there was no mention of a new Apple TV. There have been speculations that Apple is inviting software developers to start thinking about potential apps or an Apple television product. Also, no new iPad or iPhone was revealed during the conference.
Apple mostly talked about its new device features. For example, the MacBook Air lines and Pro had upgraded speeds, faster graphic chips and faster computer processors. The company also introduced a next-gen MacBook Pro laptop, which is now thinner and lighter and features “retina” screens originally introduced for the iPad and the iPhone.
Macintosh products now have a new OS called Mountain Lion. It has many of the features of iOS, the software used for iPad and iPhone. With this new OS, users can access the cloud when storing documents, notes and e-mails, among others.
In addition, the latest version of its mobile OS, iOS 6, will arrive in the fall. It will now use Maps app instead of Google Maps, which makes sense because the iPhone is Apple’s biggest product and Google is its biggest competitor.
