Apple Watch users had been requesting a sleep tracking feature on their device. And they might get it soon.
Smart Watch Sans Crucial Feature
This little smartwatch is powerful enough to do a lot of things. But it has no crucial feature that you can find in other smartwatches. Sleep tracking is one of the most requested features that Apple might finally offer it to its Apple Watch.
The company bought a sleep tracking company called Beddit. It is a startup that develops a sleep sensor. The sensor is a thin rectangular pad that you can place between your sheets. It monitors and tracks heart rates, as well as awake time and snoring. These data will be used to calculate your sleep score. It wakes up users at an optimal time.
The Beddit acquisition was in 2017. And two years after, Apple is adding the new sleep tracking feature to be called Sleep. It will record various data, such as heart rate and movement. These data will also appear in the iOS Health app.
Next Tuesday, Apple is expected to reveal its next iPhone during a press event in California. Apart from the new iPhone, Apple may also announce a new version of the Apple Watch. According to some reports, the new smartwatch will have a stronger processor and include several features.
However, it is not clear yet whether the sleep tracking feature would also work with the current version of Apple Watch. The company also did not announce a sleep tracking function for its smartwatch.
Apple just sent out its media invites for its event at its Apple Park campus. Apple releases a new iPhone every September. The new iPhone might be called iPhone 11 or iPhone Pro. It will have a triple-lens camera system to take ultra-wide-angle photos. This system is similar to the new smartphones of Samsung. It may also have a feature that allows wireless charging for Apple Watch and AirPods.
