Apple has started mass producing the rumored iPad Mini, a new report from The Wall Street Journal says citing sources from Apple’s components suppliers in Asia.
According to the report, two unnamed sources have told them that Apple has started mass production of the iPad Mini.
These sources who do not wish to be named apparently told the publication that the iPad Mini screen will measure 7.85 inches diagonally.
Furthermore, LG Display and AU Optronics will be supplying the iPad Mini displays. The companies are reported to have started making these displays since last month.
One thing we noticed about the report is that it refers to the device as the Mini iPad.
Nonetheless, the iPad Mini name has been used more widely since it was rumored in the previous months that Apple was making one.
The iPad Mini will be competing with the likes of the Google Nexus 7, Amazon Kindle Fire and Kindle ire HD and the upcoming Microsoft Surface for Windows RT in the affordable tablet market.
However, buzz about the iPad Mini started to pick up again this week after reports that Apple may send out invites to its unveiling next week.
