After Apple has reportedly closed the final chapter in the life of the white MacBook, it has now started offering a version of the 13-inch MacBook Air for $999 to educational institutions buying at least five units of the computer.
This is a replacement of the White MacBook which Apple recently stopped selling to educational institutions.
The white MacBook was Apple’s lowest-priced MacBook offered to educational institutions until the company stopped selling it to educational institutions just recently.
It could also be remembered that the white MacBook hasn’t been sold to consumers starting in July of last year.
According to MacRumors, the new “stripped-down” 13-inch MacBook Air which is being sold by Apple exclusively to educational institutions share the same tech specifications as the most basic model of the 11-inch MacBook Air.
These specifications are 1.6GHz i5 processor, 2GB RAM, 64GB flash storage, and the Intel HD Graphics 3000 chipsets.
However, it comes in the bigger-sized form factor of the MacBook Air.
According to the publication, the 13-inch MacBook Air is being sold in packs of five for $4,995 by Apple.
