The most criticized point of the iPhone 5 is related to iOS 6 and replacing Google Maps with Apple Maps that have proven to bring many errors, too simple, too few features. There were also some big leaks in the application.
Naturally Apple has to pull to provide a similar experience with Google Maps that have reached a very high level of detail over a period of time, lasting longer. The Cupertino based company started to build a team increasingly larger and already the first positive results can be observed.
Changes made by Apple are visible in regions like Honolulu, Hawaii, San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, New York, London. The Statue of Liberty in New York now appears in Apple Maps, it was a symbol of the United States which escaped the cartographer’s attention that worked on the Apple software.
The idea would be that Apple wants to offer a competitive solution and the results are visible. Know that Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, apologized for how the navigation solution, offered by the company he runs, works and I suspect that they made this a priority. In time, a few months or a few years Apple Maps maybe will not be so criticized and on the contrary, it will be appreciated.

Why is Apple not allowing IOS6 upgraders to revert to IOS5?
Apple allowed a revert/restore through iTunes in the first two days after IOS6 was released but the large number of restores that happened on the second day scared someone into taking this block decision. The restore does not work anymore and gives an error. Huge complaints on Apple support boards and to Apple but no response from the company.
The Maps problem is very bad outside the USA, where Apple Maps data is very poor. Unfortunately, most of us Apple users followed the 'nag' screen and upgraded to IOS6. When a free update is available to Microsoft Office etc., almost everyone updates; similarly, 150 million people have updated to IOS6.
Many (millions?) users who blindly upgraded and now want to go back to what they had paid for, but are now stuck without a downgrade path. Is it not illegal for Apple to block the capability to revert to IOS5?
Well… I wait and don’t buy yet the iphone 5, still have my iphone 4s with iOS6. Currently for I what see, if apple dosn’t fix all what I liked from iOS5 I will think in my phone renewal and move to Android. Why I will keep loyal to a company that changed most of the essential apps I use in a daily basis? This was a big fail.

I tried driving to the Statue of Liberty, and ended up in the water. Apple sucks.
