Apple Adds PayPal As A Payment Option On App Store And iTunes

Paypal is a popular online payment processor. It’s used around the world.

After it partnered with eBaby, most online merchants on the Internet accept it as one of the methods of payments that their buyers can choose. PayPal has tons of advantages.

Despite its benefits, PayPal wasn’t accepted as a payment option on App Store. But that has changed.

With the recent changes on App Store, Apple has finally included PayPal as one of its payment options.

This long-awaited feature allows customers to purchase anything through App Store, iBookstore, Apple Music and iTunes using their PayPal account. To make payments using this service, you just need to link your PayPal account to your Apple ID account.

However, this option isn’t available in all countries.

“Available in the US, UK, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain, PayPal customers will be able to pay for App Store, Apple Music, iTunes and iBooks purchases across iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices using their PayPal account. This provides a secure and versatile payment method to meet the growing demand for digital entertainment. PayPal’s availability across Apple’s services further expands our vision of providing customers a variety of ways to easily make mobile purchases, such as asking Siri to make a payment using the PayPal app.”

PayPal is one of the most popular digital payment platforms. Users can create their accounts online and start placing purchases on the Internet. With it, you can link your credit card or debit card to your PayPal account.

What’s great about it is that you don’t have to enter your credit card numbers to the merchant’s online shop. Because of that, it adds an extra layer of security for users as they don’t have to input their credit card details.

Since 2008, Apple maintained control over payment options. It didn’t allow third-party payment services for customers to use when purchasing digital goods.

With this update, Apple is starting to depart from that control. That said, instead of entering your CC information, you can link your PayPal account. You can also stay away from using Apple Pay.

When you select PayPal as your payment method, it uses this option on all future purchases. Thus, you don’t have to enter your information again on every transaction you make.

But Apple won’t remove its existing payment options. With that in mind, you can still use your credit card, Apple Pay or a gift card when purchasing apps and music on App Store.

PayPal shareholders are pleased with this decision. In fact, its shares rose nearly 4 percent. On Wednesday, it hit a 52-week high.

This digital payment option is preferred by online buyers because they don’t have to disclose their credit card details to the merchants. That means you can keep those details private. You can shop without having to worry about hackers downloading your data.

Furthermore, PayPal offers the flexibility that a credit card can’t provide. That is, you can set up multiple bank accounts to fund your PayPal account. It means that any purchase you make will go through the first time because the payment processor finds funds from your sources.
