Hewlett-Packard (HP) still has plans to hold its last HP TouchPad fire sale on eBay.
Sales of the ill-fated HP TouchPad tablet turned into a phenomenal hit after the company slashed its price to $99 in the US, eventually selling out the device in hours.
According to TechCrunch, HP said it still has enough stock from warehouses to start another fire sale via eBay, with refurbished 16GB and 32GB TouchPads for $99 and $149, respectively.
The company announced that its latest fire sale would start at 6PM US Central Time on December 11, with HP telling its employees, “The product offer will be announced to the general public on Monday morning and is expected to sell-out quickly thereafter, so don’t delay.”
HP, thinking the information will not leak, tried to improve its chances for a sellout saying, “there will be a short delay between when the product is posted live for sale on eBay and when the general public is notified of the sale”.
The HP TouchPad fire sale will have refurbished units hold a limited warranty of 90 days, but the firm points out that returns would be void except when the TouchPad comes in broken due to mishandling of packages.
To control the flow of customers, a maximum of only two HP TouchPads for each eBay account and online payment service PayPal will stand between them and the purchase.
The HP TouchPad fire sale on eBay will likely be the last $99 offer for the tablet.

What about the UK?
No news yet if they will offer it in the UK. Thanks for the query though.
