Rovio has announced that its record-breaking Angry Birds series will swoop down from PCs and mobile phones to gaming consoles this year.
The Finnish game maker will release Angry Birds Trilogy, a collector’s edition of the franchise’s first three titles, to the Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Nintendo 3DS.
There have been rumours of such an edition for some time now, but makers of the game Rovio announced it today on the Angry Birds Twitter page in a tweet.

Rovio also accompanied the tweet with a screenshot of the coming trilogy that shows the popular unfriendly Aves in action.
Angry Birds Trilogy is likely to carry over all the elements found on its mobile phone equivalent. However, it will arrive as a package, which includes Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio.
The company has yet to announce an official launch date for the collector’s edition but all indicators hint that it will release So far, we haven’t heard any word on launch dates from Rovio, but we do know it will arrive soon enough and just in time for the Holidays. The package will support both Xbox 360 Kinect and PlayStation Move motion-based technologies.
Rovio recently announced the availability of its Angry Birds follow-up, Amazing Alex, for Android and iOS at the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, respectively.
