AMD Appoints New CMO / image via LinkedIn
AMD has announced in a press release the appointment of Colette LaForce in the position of Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, reporting to Rory Read, president and CEO of AMD.
In her new role, LaForce will lead AMD’s marketing operations globally, including marketing strategy, branding, internal and external communications, corporate events, sponsorship and entertainment marketing.
Rory Read, AMD CEO, said that Colette LaForce has a vast experience in tech marketing and brand development, bringing new insights and a results-based approach. All this qualities will strengthen the company’s global marketing strategy.
LaForce will join the company this month, coming from Dell, where she currently holds the post of CMO for the Dell Services segment, a unit valued at about $ 8 billion. As Dell Services’ CMO, LaForce was responsible for integrated marketing, demand generation, corporate events, internal and external communication, freedom of sale and partnerships – the same duties that LaForce will be responsible for at AMD.
Before joining Dell, LaForce spent nearly a decade in executive positions of marketing and communications operations for a series of technology and venture capital companies, including Rackable Systems (now SGI) and Accenture.
LaForce hold a bachelor’s degree in Letters and Philosophy and graduated from the University of Notre Dame. She will join AMD on May 14th and will activate from Austin, Texas.
