Amazon has launched a new app for mobile shopping on Windows Phone handsets in a bid to increase the user base of smartphones powered by Microsoft’s mobile operating system.
The American online retail giant named the app “Amazon Mobile App for Windows Phone”, which will allow users of Windows Phone devices to purchase items on the online store with just ‘one-click’. The mobile app also comes with its own barcode scanner for users to scan products and compare them with Amazon prices.
“The new Amazon Mobile App for Windows Phone offers customers all of the great features of the Amazon Shopping experience and Windows Phone customers can also benefit from the Amazon barcode scanning tile on their start screen,” said Greg Greeley, VP of EU Retail at Amazon. “The Windows Phone is an increasingly popular choice for many Amazon customers so we’re delighted to be able to offer them a bespoke App with this new start screen feature only available for Windows Phone.”
It also includes the ability to open and read reviews from other users, share products to friends, track packages and see customized recommendations.
The free Amazon Mobile App for Windows Phone is now available for download on the Windows Phone Marketplace.
