Almost 2 out of 5 Americans who buy an Apple iPhone do so after using an Android or BlackBerry smartphone, a new survey has found.
The data comes from a survey conducted by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners which found that 38 percent of iPhone buyers switch from Android or BlackBerry, AppleInsider reports.
Furthermore, that figure is already an increase of nearly 10 percent compared to 29 percent of users saying in a similar survey conducted on February that they deflect from Android or BlackBerry to the iPhone.
According to the research group which conducted this latest survey, there were a total of 7,348 subjects of the study conducted just this April, of which 521 were deemed qualified to respond.
Other details found out by the survey is that 73 percent of American iPhone buyers choose the iPhone 4S.
Of those who bought an iPhone 4S during the month the survey was conducted, 50 percent bought the 16GB iPhone 4S, 34 percent bought the 32GB iPhone 4S while 16 percent bought the 64GB iPhone 4S.
